How to Download Full Version Of Internet Explorer 6 Work Like a Standalone Full Installer

While we all are waiting for the latest version of Internet Explorer 7 to be released, here i will share some tips on how to download the Full Version of Internet Explorer 6 without installing it first while downloading it. What do i mean? As for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 is a live installer, you will be downloading a file size of 468KB that is just a live installer, you will be connected to Microsoft, while installing through downloading it. Using a live installer is good and safe but for some reason, if, what if, the connection is down on a sudden, and you will have to resume back again where you’ve stopped. These would take some time, but of cause eventhough downloading it would need time, but what if, you already downloaded the full Internet Explorer 6 installer files, and were resided on your hard disk or even you’ve backup it in a CDs or DVDs. Is it much more faster if you are trying to install Internet Explorer for the second time or thrice?

Yup. I think you get my point. I will stop that crap of writing improper grammar english of mine. Here it goes.

Note: If you looking for a Internet Explorer 6 SP2, well you have to download following the step by step here, after finishing all the steps, once you have connected to the internet, click on the Window Updates and it will bring you to the Microsoft Windows Update Webpage, on this webpage, you can choose the Internet Explorer 6 SP2 updates.

Steps of Downloading the Full Version Of Internet Explorer 6

:: Step 1 ::

First you must download the file Internet Explorer 6 Setup File at Microsoft Internet Explorer Download Website or this file its FREE DOWNLOAD.

Here you got few choices of downloading the Internet Explorer 6 Setup Files :

The first choice is, if you are a non-english user, and want to use an other language of Internet Explorer 6, you can click on the A circle link on the Microsoft Internet Explorer Download website called “Worldwide Download Page” . After clicking on the “Worldwide Download Page”, you will then go to another page where you can choose your own prefer language of Internet Explorer 6. Remember, this is only the Internet Explorer 6 Setup File that you are downloading. Ok. Once you reach your own language of Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Download Website, you now can choose to download the file. After you have downloaded the file proceed to Step 2, skip this second choice below.

The Secong choice is, if you are sure you only want to download and install the Full Internet Explorer 6 in English Language, just click on the B circle link on the Microsoft Internet Explorer Download Website called “Get Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (SP1)”. Here you will need to click on the “Download Center” link to go to the download page. Shown on Photo below ( Circled C ) Proceed to Step 2.

Notes: If you want to skip both the choices i mentioned, just click on the link this file, and it will direct you to the download page. More faster this way, unless you want different language on downloading Internet Explorer 6.

:: Step 2 ::

Click on the Download Button at the Microsoft Internet Explorer Download webpage, and try save the file somewhere on your drive in a directory where you can be easyly access later after you’ve download. Let’s say, we save it on drive d: and inside a directory called “IE6Setup”. ( you can use your own directory name, no need to be exact like mine.)

:: Step 3 ::

Once you have finished download the setup file. Go to the folder where you have save it. Use the Command Prompt screen to access or to run the setup file. ( You can read one of my Tips on How to use the Format Command where you will learn how to get the command prompt.)

Run this command line in the command prompt screen(assumed that you already at the directory, refer to capture picture below ) :

You can Click Start > Run… , enter the following command line in the field provided.

Key in the directory where you just downloaded the file and follow by the filename and code, for example

Directory Where you’ve downloaded ->ie6setup.exe /c:”ie6wzd.exe /d:1 /s:”"#E”

:: Step 4 ::

A must, otherwise you would be able to continue. Click on Accept on their Agreements then click Next Buttons

Then it will start initializing the setup file in a few seconds or minutes depends on your computer speed and connections.

Finally, the screen of where you want to download the Installation File to be download on to. Try choose an easy to remember directory or place of the installation to be in, as later if you want to backup or want to run the setup, it would be easy for you to locate the installation files.

For example : I want to store the Internet Explorer 6 Installation file in the same directory of where i just downloaded the setup file, and want it to be inside a directory called “Installation”.

Then just click Next and it will start download the setup file without installing it. Done. Congratulation, now all you need to do is sit back and wait until its fully download. And you can backup it to a CDs or DVDs for later use on an offline PC.
